The opening of the passenger and agent's section of the restored Linville Depot was a hit for the participants of the 25th annual convention of the ET&WNC Railroad Historical Society. While restoration thrived in one place, demolition reared its ugly head at an Elizabethton landmark. The removal of the final piece of the former NARC rayon plant, a fixture at Bemberg since 1928, presented the bittersweet opportunity to view the interior of the once state-of-the-art powerplant.
