Hillside Above Cranberry Iron Mine

Sticking out of the tailings piles on the hillside across from the Cranberry Mine entrance were these very small rails. Looked like maybe 40 pound rail, that's a quarter on the one on the right. They scaled out to about 2.75" tall. Three feet apart and firmly anchored into the hill, these weren't just leftover pieces of rail. My guess is that they are what's left of one of the ore car trails where carts full of waste rock from the hillside workings were pushed to the end of a track and dumped, creating an ever-growing pile of tailings.
