Hill Slope Bat Gate At Cranberry Iron Mine

Jerry and I check out another one of the bat gate protecting one of the "Hill Slope" openings up the hill from the main mine entrance. See my comments at the other bat gate photo. Must have been a pretty good project to put these in, they were all built in place out of steel beams with electric welders. They're way up the hill and all the materials and equipment needed to construct them had to be hauled up there.
