Cranberry Iron Mine

Our group explored the outskirts of the mine. Not that we haven't been there before, but it's always a neat experience. The bat fence keeps humans out. But the best parts of the mine are close to the entrance anyway. And seeing it "weedless" gave us a new perspective on how the site is laid out. I just love that little round "window" in that rock column. I wonder if bored miners chipped out that hole for fun? Or perhaps it was just the first hole opened up between the underground mine where we are and the surface diggings outside?
