Cranberry Bottoms

This low section of Cranberry down close to the highway was filled with cut timber in the old days. Now, in November, it's filled to capacity with Christmas trees. This is only one photo, but It took 3 shots to show the entire operation. No telling how many thousands of trees there were. These trees were coming in from local growers in smaller trucks and trailers and were being transfered to larger trucks to go out all over the country. And this was just one of many of these gathering points. The ET could have helped take these out if Christmas trees had been a big commodity back in he day.

Winter really brings out a different character in the shape of the hills as the trees get bare. Very different from the folds of green carpet that summer brings.
