This is how small culverts were built in the later days of the ET&WNC. This one's still got some stacked stone on the wings. We're on the stretch of track that follows State Line Road headed out of Elizabethton toward Coal Chute. Close to the Snap-On Tools building. Looks like some big timbers covered with sheet metal and then ties on top of that. I didn't get any measurements, but you can scale it out using that tie as a reference. |
