Deck Bridge Support and Abutment at Tunnel 1

This is standing on the old highway bridge looking at the remaining abutments for the old covered deck truss bridge. That stone support and abutment is about 120 years old, and has been unused for over 50 years. The tracks were level with the top of the far abutment. You can see how much fill was pushed on top of the ROW when the new bridges on the right were put in. About 20 feet. This stuff is virtually impossible to see anytime except winter.
