Elizabethton, Tennessee

This is part of a mill race in Elizabethton along Race Avenue. It is fed in the far distance by the Doe River and then empties into the Watauga River, not far behind me. This race once powered water-driven machinery at several factories, including Island Pants Co. and a flour mill, both of which were on the bank of the Watauga River.
