Tiger Valley School

Another place I'd like to know some history of is the Tiger Valley School, an interesting structure made of stone, with the words "Tiger Valley Tenn" spelled out in stone on the front gable. You can't tell from this photo, but this is a very large building. An interesting side-note here, Colonel Thomas Matson who was the engineer who laid out and built the ET&WNC, proposed one route to Cranberry that did not go through the Doe River Gorge. It followed the Little Doe River and went up Tiger Creek and was slated to run right behind this school. But it didn't. The end. Not of the pictures, but the story.
