Cranberry Baptist Church

One of the few things that hasn't changed much in Cranberry is the Cranberry Baptist Church. It looks essentially like it did almost 100 years ago. It can clearly be seen, surrounded by company houses, in old 1900-1920 photos of the Cranberry Mine area. A few of the old 2 story duplex and single story single family company houses still stand in Cranberry, mostly along 19E. But a few are still up Smoky Road, which was once lined with dozens of company houses, single story on one side of the road and 2 story on the other side. A maple tree was planted at the front corner of every other lot. Some of these maples are still there today. Look for them next time you go to Cranberry.
