MacRae Lumber Company Drying Shed at Linville
Detail shot of the front. You can see the discoloration where a porch roof was attached over the double doors on the front end of the shed. The drying shed had large ground-level double doors on the back where lumber was taken in from a drying kiln directly across West Fork. The front end here at one time had double doors and inside was a built-up platform where lumber was loaded out the doors onto rail cars. Lumber came in the back and out the front. |
