Cranberry Iron Mine at Cranberry, North Carolina

The main entrance to the Cranberry Iron Mine. This is the bowl-shaped surface diggings that eventually connected into the underground portion of the mine. The main horizontal mine shaft that runs almost a mile back into the mountain is to the right and perpendicular to this photo.
