Steel Thru Truss Bridge in the Doe River Gorge

No, this photo is not about the tennis shoes. It's about the holes in the steel web of the floor beams of this bridge. The overall structure looks pretty good to my untrained eye, except for that thin metal on those beams. It does seem rustier than the deck bridge, or more pitted I guess. Maybe it just wasn't as good a quality as the deck bridge and the one at Blevins.
