Linville Depot at Newland

An open house ensued and everyone went in to check it out. Shot this photo to show how the floor foundation was done using as much of the original foundation lumber as possible. This also shows the difference in height of the passenger room where I'm standing and the freight room. This was done to get the freight section to the correct level for loading and unloading freight cars to the dock. The restoration of the Linville Depot is being done next door to the Newland Court House and behind the Avery County Museum.
