Doe River Gorge Plantlife

A few of the rhododendrons/mountain laurels were still in bloom in the Doe River Gorge this year. Haven't seen them in bloom during our convention in several years. Aren't they usually finished by now? I heard that an early spring had gotten things going, but then a long cool spell later in the spring delayed the blooms. Sounds feasible. I was just glad to see them again.
