Linville River Railway on the Toe River

"Good Day At Banjo Branch". I'd never walked to Banjo Branch before, the scene of the famous "Bad Day At Banjo Branch" story in Mal Ferrell's "Tweetsie Country". An early ET engine and crew ended up in the creek here when the trestle gave way. A steel deck bridge was put in later. Thanks to the Toe River Hunt Club for letting us in to walk the old Linville River ROW in the Toe River Gorge. They own most of the old ROW in this section and have many "fishin' holes" set up in the river. The scenery is pretty spectacular. That's Philip Snyder on the bridge and Michael Paschall on the far right.
