Johnson City

Found this beautiful old victorian in Johnson City on North Roan at Unaka Ave. It has absolutely nothing to do with the ET except that it was built when the railroad was young. Someone modeling the ET would want to include this style of home to date the railroad. At one time, this area was a classy residential section on the edge of the Carnegie Addition. Unfortunately, it is on the edge of the slowly deteriorating downtown area and is now in a questionable mix of light commercial and residential structures. Some of the homes date to around 100 years old or more with some in-fill areas of 40 to 50 year old vintage. But none are as grand as these original Victorians.
