Montezuma, North Carolina
Here's a house in Montezuma that was once a dormitory in a complex
of similar buildings. I was told that it was the forerunner of Appalachian
State University. It was the beginnings of the college, but never really
got off the ground. The college was moved to Boone, and these buildings
remained and were converted to houses. This one has been abandoned for
a long time, but is a nicely proportioned old place. It had a covered porch
at one time, but it seems to have rotted away long ago. Looks like they at least had a TV. |
