Jonesboro, Tennessee
This structure in Jonesboro sits right next to the
Norfolk Southern line coming west out of Johnson City. I am assuming
it originally was a...hmmm...Salt House. It looks like it used
to have a covered platform on this side, probably over a railroad
siding. Now, whether a Salt House was used for the storage and
distribution of salt is a good question. Not knowing any difference,
I would say it was. Maybe someone else knows more about this
particular structure. Anyway, it is a neat old building that
looks like it dates back to the late 1800s. It's now an antique
gallery.
