Doe River Gorge

The Doe River is actually calm and boulder-free in a few spots. This is one of them. This is at the bottom of what looks like a spur from the ET&WNC mainline at the entrance to tunnel 3. We haven't figured out whether it was a spur or not, but if it was then it was steep and ended down here by the river. Since it's relatively flat and picturesque the Ministries use this area now for outdoor meetings. If you go upriver to the right for about a quarter mile you'll be at the large retaining wall just above tunnel 3.
