Buffalo Creek Bridge

This and the next few photos are of the Buffalo Creek plate girder bridge between Johnson City and Elizabethton. We're looking toward Elizabethton in this shot. You can stand in Buffalo Creek here and hardly get wet, it's only a few inches deep. You can walk out to the middle of it, as I did, on the rocks. There are 2 large formed-concrete supports, 2 formed-concrete abutments with wing walls, and 2 small concrete supports that look much newer than the rest. The original bridge was a really interesting wooden half-thru girder affair.
