Chestnut Bark Siding in Linville

This chestnut bark covers many of the older houses in Linville, and was the original covering of the Linville Depot. Chestnut trees, very large Chestnut trees, were everywhere in this area and heavily logged. After the Chestnut blight, this almost indestructible bark became basically unobtainable. It weathers to this beautiful, warm gray.
