Bemberg Rayon Plant at Elizabethton

The old Bemberg Rayon Plant stack was visible behind the Wal-Mart at Elizabethton. Bemberg was the first rayon plant here, and the ET&WNC depot and the area took on the Bemberg name. It was also called Port Rayon during WWII. This whole area is so built up with retail business, the Bemberg Plant closed and the NARC plant burned and demolished, that it's hardly recognizable from the highway.
