Ex-Bemberg Watertank at Tunnel 2

The old Bemberg water tank stands guard at the entrance to the Doe River Gorge, by way of tunnel 2. One would hardly guess a tunnel entrance lurked behind those trees. They have since been cleared and the area cleaned up by the Christian Camp. The tank looked in pretty good shape in 1989, but looking at the picture now, I noticed that 3 boards had come loose and would eventually doom the tank. The tank fell apart in 1998, but Camp officials were hopeful of replacing the original tank boards with all new ones, even going as far as asking the Historical Society what kind of wood to use. This tank is too well known and has been moved too many times to just end up as kindling.
